Response to Sasha Trickey’s Module 3 Post
Hi Sasha,
I thought your post did a great job explaining how UDL and inclusive learning design work together to make education more adaptable and equitable. I liked how you emphasized that there is no “average learner” and connected that idea to Todd Rose’s talk. The part about teaching to the “edges” also really stood out because it reframes inclusion as designing for everyone rather than just accommodating individual needs. And your example about supporting a student who struggles with literacy through their strength in science was a great illustration of that principle in action.
I also related to your reflection on asynchronous learning (remembering weekly tasks without live reminders can definitely be a challenge). I wonder if you think hybrid approaches, like short check-in sessions or discussion-based recaps, might help combine structure with flexibility. You also made a strong point that merging both learning formats could help balance accountability with independence. Overall, your post was well-structured, and I appreciated how you connected personal experience with broader learning frameworks in a clear and engaging way.
